According to BusinessKorea, SK Hynix Chairman Lee Seok-hee stated at the shareholders meeting held on March 30 that the company will strive to become the leader in the global NAND flash memory market through synergies with Intel’s NAND flash memory division. .

SK Hynix announced in October last year that it signed an acquisition agreement with Intel to acquire the latter’s NAND flash memory and storage business for 10.3104 trillion won (approximately RMB 60.4 billion).

Li Xixi said that SK Hynix has an advantage in the NAND mobile field, and Intel has an advantage in the eSSD business, so the two can maximize synergy.

At present, SK Hynix is only behind Samsung Electronics and is the world's second largest DRAM manufacturer. After acquiring the NAND flash memory business from Intel, the company is likely to remain a leader in the global NAND flash memory market, just like in the DRAM industry.

Li Xixi pointed out that when he assumed the post of chairman two years ago, one of his goals was to make the company's market value reach 100 trillion won. The company achieved this goal at the beginning of this year. Now, SK Hynix will set its goal even higher, that is, focus on expanding its DRAM and NAND flash memory business, and enhance shareholder value based on environmental, social and management (ESG).

Li Xixi further explained the three directions of intensive investment-research and development, ESG management and future growth engines.

Specifically, SK Hynix plans to establish R&D bases in the United States and Europe and will be committed to promoting the "RE100" 100% renewable energy concept and net zero carbon. As for the future growth engine, the company will look for and invest in promising companies in various fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), autonomous driving and 5G.
