A few days ago, a cold wave and blizzard invaded Texas, causing widespread water and power outages in the area. The people suffered an unprecedented crisis, and the chip factory was also affected by the suspension of production and work. It is reported that, as a global technology giant, Samsung has donated millions of dollars to the zone.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics recently stated that the company has donated US$1 million to community partners in Texas to support rescue efforts in Blizzard. The money will be used to provide food, water, medical services and shelters for the people of Texas.

In addition, Samsung's chip factory in Austin, Texas, was shut down for more than two weeks due to a power outage. This is also the first time the factory has been forced to close since its completion in 1998.

Industry insiders predict that it may take several weeks for the plant to resume operations.

It is worth mentioning that when the new crown virus ravages North America in 2020, Samsung Electronics also donated more than US$4 million to Samsung to non-profit organizations across the United States to support epidemic relief efforts.
